A Digital Video Recorder is approximately the size of a VCR, but that's where the similarities end. With a DVR, the video is digitally recorded to an internal hard drive, instead of tape. This permits the continuous recording of the video from all cameras for days or weeks at a time. When the hard drive is full, the oldest video is deleted so that the system always has the most recent video stored for immediate playback. If you need to save any video, you can easily burn it to a CD/RW drive, (not included).

There are no tapes to maintain, rewind or replace when they wear out. Downtime for maintenance is dramatically reduced.

The Swann DVR4-Motion is a low cost 4 Channel Digital Video Recorder. Featuring four standard composite video inputs and 2 video outputs. It's the ideal CCTV system for small retail stores, homes or as a replacement for time lapse recorders.

Integrated motion activated recording also makes it ideal for covert observation systems. Control of the unit is via the front panel controls and on-screen display menu. Video recording is activated manually via alarm-inputs or automatically via built-in motion detection. Recording speed, quality and quad or multiplexer mode recording, can also be setup via the on-screen-display. To playback, one needs to simply connect the DVR4-Motion to a monitor or TV, select an event and press play. Video can be played back at various speeds, in slow motion or frame-by-frame.
