A Digital Video Recorder is approximately the size of a VCR, but that's where the similarities end. With a DVR, the video is digitally recorded to an internal hard drive, instead of tape. This permits the continuous recording of the video from all cameras for days or weeks at a time. When the hard drive is full, the oldest video is deleted so that the system always has the most recent video stored for immediate playback. If you need to save any video, you can easily burn it to a CD/RW drive, (not included).

There are no tapes to maintain, rewind or replace when they wear out. Downtime for maintenance is dramatically reduced.

The built in video motion detection of this Security DVR can be set to record automatically when any of the 4 surveillance cameras detect activity. The removable hard drive slides out to allow for archiving or expansion. In quad mode all four cameras can be viewed and recorded at 30 images per second. In the mutilplexed mode (MUX), each camera can be recorded at 7.5 images per second (7.5 x 4 cameras = 30). The 4 adjustable compression levels of the DVR provides additional control over total recording time. To allow non-stop recording the hard drive can be set to automatically write over the oldest video when full. Continuous, manual, event, and scheduled recording is also available. Four alarm inputs are included to automatically place the DVR in the record mode when event recording. And to assist in the surveillance search for specific video, the system provides a time/date/event search capability.

To provide for remote viewing of the 4 cameras, the DVR can be viewed via the internet with a web browser. Playback, full screen viewing, and operational controls can be accessed from any location.
