Up until now, stationary covert video required you to pull wires or to contend with wireless connections that depend on clear reception, which would fail half the time. All of these problems and time consuming tasks have been eliminated with the new generation SleuthGear Covert Video System.

It looks like a black box but is it? The SleuthGear Recluse™ is an all-inclusive recording device in a simple small black box. The enclosed DVR and camera become invisible as the plain black case blends into any background. (See picture at upper right)

Inside this ordinary looking black box is actually a motion activated camera, with a recording system using a SD card for Memory, The SleuthGear Recluse™ can go anywhere and record everything without attracting any attention. Just set the box in your desired location and begin recording. It's high recording/camera resolution (1280x750 ), 2 camera positioning, low light recording and weather resistant exterior expand its applications.

The Recluse™ has a built-in CCD color camera which sees through the black plastic polymer and has a low lux rating, with a 75° view and a rechargeable Li-polymer battery that will power the device for approx 6 hours of continuous recording. (Extra battery available to eliminate down time while recharging.) With its easy to operate on screen menu and functional LED indicators, operating this Covert Camera/DVR is a breeze.

To begin the video surveillance, remove the back cover, insert the SD Card, push the activation button, replace the cover and place it in a natural setting. (To assist in setting up recording options and the correct camera view. connect the Recluse™ to an optional Portable 3.5" LCD Monitor). The motion activation sensor will trigger the system to begin recording the 30 frames/second MPEG4 file directly on to the SD Card, up to 8 GB.

The SteuthGear Recluse provides 2 options for video plaback:
1) Playback directly from the unit by connecting the provided RCA cable to any TV or monitor
2) Insert the SD card directly into an SD card USB card reader, (purchased separately) to view the video using Windows Media Player on your computer
